Here’s a bit about me:

• I’m a 24 year old Virginia native currently living in Richmond. You can catch me working as a freelance book editor and short story writer @fictionsandfables.
• Just a girl on a mission to find the best açaí bowl in the world (hence the name of this blog!)
• My favorite state is Montana (yeehaw)
• My coolest travel experience was walking through the rising tide at St. Michael’s Mount

MY STORY

My travel journey started when I was 21 during a summer semester abroad in Bath, England. Growing up, I didn’t have a strong foundation for travel. Traveling was never something my family prioritized, though I was always Pinterest stalking destination guides and adding pockets of the world to my bucket list. Studying abroad was my gateway to travel, and it was the first time I truly felt like the world I had been dreaming of was accessible to me. While traveling on a semester abroad by myself was FAR out of my comfort zone, I quickly fell in love with the different scenery and culture in the UK.

Since then, I have traveled to 6 countries and 17 states . . . and counting!

For me, travel is like grabbing a double shot of espresso in the morning—it wakes me up, makes me feel alive. I started Acai & City Streets as a creative outlet for not only myself, but for any other dreamers out there. This blog is for the people who are seeking to break out of their comfort zones and into the big ‘ole world out there. I hope that by sharing my experiences, I can inspire you to be more comfortable and confident in leading your own travel journey.
